About Paul Johnstone
Paul launched the business in 2019, following over a decade in procurement with some of world renowned University and Financial Service organisations, where he led over £750m of construction, facilities management and consultancy contracts.
Most notably, Paul led the procurement of a multi-award winning £83m new build education campus which delivered over £20.5m of Social Value for the local community.
Paul’s mission is to help our clients maximise their growth and profitability, benefitting from our procurement expertise to help them win more contracts.

About Leon Cox
Leon joined the business in 2024, bringing 14 years of
experience in writing and managing bids within the construction industry and related sectors.
As Head of Bids, he oversees all stages of the bid process,
from initial launch and pre-planning to strategy and delivery. A standout achievement includes leading efforts to secure Preferred Bidder Status for our client on two Framework Lots for the University of Glasgow Framework, unlocking up to £250m in potential opportunities.
Leon’s strategic leadership and collaborative approach are instrumental in delivering high-scoring bids, working closely with clients to highlight their unique strengths, added value, and innovation.

About Lyndsey Wray
Lyndsey joined the business in 2024, bringing 30 years of expertise in bid writing, management, and strategy development. With over a decade running her own specialist bid consultancy, she has guided businesses of all sizes and sectors in developing successful work-winning strategies and resources.
As Senior Bid Consultant, Lyndsey plays a key role in delivering our core services, including win-strategy workshops, bid team support, bid reviews, and bid writing and management. Her wealth of experience ensures clients receive tailored, high-impact solutions to maximise their chances of success.

About Johnny Cracknell
Johnny joined the team in 2023 as a graduate. Since then, his knowledge of the bidding sector has been developed entirely during his time at Optimum, meaning he applies the work winning strategy of the Bid Journey to all clients.
As a Bid Consultant, Johnny supports clients in developing their work winning strategies, applying these to targeted tender opportunities. He facilitates the delivery of our core services including bid library development, USP identification and bid writing and management.
Since joining, Johnny has helped numerous clients secure critical contracts. In one case, he guided a client previously unsuccessful in public tenders to refine their USPs and clearly articulate their capabilities effectively, leading to a successful bid.
